Men:

On the mens side we're ranked 8th, but I believe we're better than Shadow Ridge, Palo Verde, and Green Valley; however, actions speak louder than words. The only time we've went up against those teams was the LVI, where we ran nowhere near of what we are capable of. This past week we placed 3rd in the combined mens score, just 10 points behind Foothill, and Coronado beat us by 38. Coronado's guys look like the team to beat now in my opinion. All of the coaches who keep putting Basic where they don't belong will see at Regionals...and there will be a flood of Basic runners near the top of the pack at the end of the race. I know when that time comes we'll do big things, but for now I'll just say we're #5 right now...but we're going to keep climbing up the ladder!

On the girls side I believe Basic is under-rated as well, not as much as the guys, but I do think we deserve more respect for our female runners. We are ranked below SECTA, who we ran against and beat in the overall combined team score in the Falcon Invite. Basic placed 3rd behind Coronado and Foothill, but we beat SECTA who finished 4th 7 points behind Basic. So we should at least be #8 in Southern Nevada in my opinion....but I mean AT LEAST. I think our girls could beat Shadow Ridge as well.
